Overview

After school science club for participants aged 12 to 17.

By popular demand - a new program from Children's Discovery - in-depth science and discovery for teens.

We will deep dive into all things STEM that interest the cohort; from climate and energy to science in action - with an emphasis on learning safe use of hand tools to create and innovate. We are hoping to engage a small group of weekly participants, but also be a drop-in centre for STEM learning. You can also bring your own project which we will help you develop.

From our signature MadLab electronics workshop, to the Internet of Things, this will be a unique opportunity of immersive creativity and imagiineering.

We continue to follow all NSW Health Guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy space.

Children's Discovery

4.8 out of 5 (View 72 reviews)

We’re all about child-led discovery that supports children's natural curiosity, building their creativity and confidence to work things out for themselves. Each day offers a different experience which is adapted to the interests of the children.

We have amazing fun with science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) - we explore, investigate, test & fail and share the joy of discovery. We are a COVID-safe venue providing an essential service for holiday care.

With no proscribed outcomes, our discovery science workshops are designed for children (accompanying adults always welcome) to build their confidence, communication, collaboration and creativity and develop their investigative powers to explore their world.

We also create discovery spaces hosting powerful playful learning experiences; from simulated archaeological excavations and house construction experiences, to "tours" through giant body parts. Discovery spaces are designed for children and their adults to co-create, co-discover, and experience the joy of sharing a playful adventure. See our work in action at the Early Start Discovery Space in Wollongong.

Our national library STEM initiative sees libraries and community venues throughout Australia being trained, equipped and supported to run science and discovery clubs. These include the Little Bang Discovery Club, Big Bang Science Workshops and collection of loanable STEM-themed Spark discovery boxes. Please get in touch if you’d like to know more.

Children's Discovery is a child-safe enterprise committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable people. You are welcome to review our policies and procedures.
